Talking during the occasion Mr. Peter Mandila who is the salams club chairman said they took the step after realizing that most old men and women in the community have been abandoned and some are going through hard moments and need help. Mandila added that they will continue supporting many people in the society and appealed to well wishers to join them in making sure that they transform the society especially for the elderly people than contributing to them only when they are dead.” Most of our leaders and those who are able in the community never want to support such a noble idea but whenever one dies they will come in large numbers to make their contributions just for politicians to use the occasion to sell their political agendas which is a very bad idea which run away from and instead support people while they are still alive “, said club chairman Mr. Mandila.
