West Media has expanded its reach in recent times, as several Salaams Clubs are being launched and new fans join the big family. Leaders of Bungoma All in One under their chairman Gavana Edu alias ‘Edu wa Destiny’ have thanked West Media Company for bringing together its fans for the purpose of development. Edu was addressing fans at Wesimikha in Bumula Sub County in Bungoma County during the launch of Bumula West FM Salaams Club.
He praised the move made by Bumula fans to start a club. “I would like to thank you for making this move of joining us and accepting to be part of West Media,” said Edu “Our main aim of forming groups is development, therefore, I welcome you and it’s my prayer and wish that we will see each other grow as a County.”
He however, urged them to remain united since it is only through unity that they will be able to achieve their set agenda. Bumula Salaams Club chairman Meshack Wafula alias ‘Operator Meshack Wafula wa Lunao’ expressed his contentment for being part of West Media and for Bungoma All in One leadership allowing them to join.
Wafula stated that their aim of starting the club was to uplift their lives and see that poverty is done away with in the region. “Today am the happiest person since I never knew that this day will come and turn out this way. I had this idea but I didn’t know we shall gather here and hold such a big function,” stated Wafula. “Our intention mostly was to ensure that our people are empowered in ways that will see them rise above poverty,” he reiterated.
He promised that he will co-operate with the County’s leadership and urged his members too to give him enough co-operation and be ready to learn from already existing groups. “To my members, I urge you to check what other groups that began before us are doing and emulate them. I think by doing so we shall go far.”
Vice-chairperson Timothy Wanyonyi alias ‘Kufwela’ urged them to move swiftly whenever they have a call on the County level. He told them to also participate in their project, to purchase a County bus, with plans underway.
West Media Company was represented by Nick Nabangi, Samuel Munai, Elizabeth Masinde and Victoriah Nang’oni who thanked them for being loyal to the company, for accepting to be part of West Media and encouraged them to register with National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) and take their children to Vocational Training Centres and Youth Polytechnics.
