Bungoma County Governor Wycliffe Wangamati named his list of ten CEC nominees. The nominees are to undergo vetting before being approved, and here is a closer look at the list and additional details;
Richard Sabwami Keya has been nominated to head the docket of Public Service Management and Administration. He holds a Bachelor of Education (Arts) degree from Kenyatta University. He is the current principal for Sikusi Secondary School and has taught in various schools including Baringo High School and Mautuma Secondary. The 54-year-old comes from Malakisi-Kulisiru Ward in Sirisia Constituency.
Bramuel Murgor Serebemuom has been nominated to head the Lands, Urban/Physical Planning and Housing docket. He is a PhD Student at Kisii University (Business Administration) and has an MBA, Strategic Management KEMU and a BA Geography, Government and Public Administration from Moi University. The 49-year-old served as Chief Settlement officer in Marakwet County and also as District Head of Department. He hails from Kapkateny Ward in Mt. Elgon Constituency.
Gregory Mabangoh Naulikha is the CEC nominee for Trade, Energy and Industrialization. He holds an MA in Economics and Geography and a Bachelors in Education from Kenyatta University. He was a Technical Advisor at the Canadian Corporation Organisation-CCO and has other notable experience, including working as the Technical Advisor SNV-Netherlands International Aid Agency. The 54-year-old comes from Ndalu Ward, Tongaren Constituency.
Everlyne Bunusu Kakai has been nominated to head the Gender, Youth, Culture and Sports docket. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce, Banking and Finance Option and is currently the Principal Accountant in Nakuru County. The 45-year-old hails from Ndivisi Ward in Webuye East.
Renson Makheti Wanyonyi has been nominated to lead the Environment, Water and Tourism docket. He holds a BA Economics and an MBA from the University of Nairobi. Currently, he is serving as the Chief Manager at Lake Victoria Water Services Board and is also pursuing a PhD in Strategic Management from JKUAT. He is 52 years old and comes from Sitikho Ward, Webuye West constituency.
Collins Mukhongo has been nominated to head the Roads, Infrastructure and Public Works docket. He holds a BSc in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Nairobi. He also holds an MBA from the University of Nairobi and a post-graduate certificate in Applied Radiation Protection from the Institute of Nuclear Science, University of Nairobi. He is a member of the Engineers Board of Kenya and also served as Senior Networks and Support Engineer at Kenya Revenue Authority. The 44-year-old comes from East Sang’alo, Kanduyi Constituency.
Esther Wamalwa has been nominated to head the Finance and Economic Planning position. Ms Wamalwa is a holder of MSc Finance (Finance and Economics option) from KCA University and also holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance Option) from the same university. She is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA-K). She is currently the head of Finance at Print Exchange Limited, which is an international organisation. The 39-year-old comes from Khalaba Ward, Kanduyi Constituency.
The Agriculture, Livestock, Irrigation, Fisheries and Cooperative Development CEC nominee is Mathews Chirasha Wanjala Makanda. He holds an MBA from the University of Nairobi and a Bachelors Degree in Business Management (Finance and Banking Option) from Egerton University. Currently, he is an independent consultant in Agribusiness, Entrepreneurship, value chains and business development, international trade, renewable energy and project management, and has previously been a Lecturer, Business Advisor, Regional Manager Business Development and Country Project Manager on Food Security and Staple foods. The 40-year-old comes from Kibingei Ward, Kimilili Constituency.
Dr. Betty Mayeku has been nominated to head the Education and Vocational Training docket. Dr. Mayeku holds a PhD in Computer Science from Germany, Masters in Educational Technology, Bachelor of Education (Science). She has worked as a Research Assistant in Germany, Lecturer at Kisumu Polytechnic, part-time Lecturer at Masinde Muliro University and is currently a Lecturer at Kibabii University. The 40-year-old comes from Mukuyuni Ward, Kabuchai Constituency.
The Health and Sanitation CEC nominee is Dr. Anthony Thadeus Walela. He holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy from the University of Nairobi. His experience catalogue included working as a Director at Pharmacy and Poisons Board, Director at Lake Basin Development Authority, Director Countrywide Pharmaceuticals, Director Mumbi House Pharmaceuticals, Director Lele Pharmacy and he is a member of the Pharmaceuticals Society of Kenya. The 51-year-old comes from Kabula Ward, Bumula Constituency.
