Bungoma county assembly has officially adjourned its sessions.
The adjournment comes as a break to allow members attend the devolution conference which will be held at Makueni Boys School in Wote.
Speaking to West FM the county assembly’s public communication officer Mr. Eric Ngobilo said that the house will reconvene on the 30th of November to transact business till 3rd of December before breaking for the Christmas holiday.
He further specified that the calendar in the house can be amended to allow members to extend their sitting period.
The conference which was supposed to be held in August was rescheduled to November due to the COVD-19 surge in the country was recalled by the President during Mashujaa celebrations in Kirinyanga County.
The four-day conference will be held from 23rd to 26th of November.
The theme of the conference will be ‘multi-level governance for climate action’ and the overall objective being ‘strengthening sub-national government to act on climate change and develop stronger mitigation capacities’
The conference will enable the country to take stoke of achievements after 10 years of devolution while forging a way forward where challenges were presented as Charles Keter who is the Cabinet Secretary in the Ministry of Devolution said during a past press release.
Kenya will be the first country in the world to host a conference on climate change after the Glasgow Conference.
