Bungoma County Ford Kenya MPs have lauded the Supreme Court’s ruling led by Chief Justice Martha Koome for upholding William Ruto’s victory as the President elect in the August polls.
Speaking on West Media, Kabuchai MP Majimbo Kalasinga appreciated Bungoma County people for turning out in large numbers on the voting day and voted for Ruto as the fifth President, something he said indeed the President elect is indebted to.
Kabuchai legislator thanked Kenyans for maintaining peace after the court’s ruling stating that Kenyans have made a step in politics whereby there was no destruction of property or election after math skirmishes as it has been a tradition as he added that foreign countries are pleased with how Kenyans reacted on Monday’s ruling by keeping calm and said as a result investors won’t fear coming in the country to do their businesses and invest fully.
He however, thanked Kabuchai people for massively voting for him as he got more than 90% of the votes cast hence putting him on the Kenyan map among all elected Members of Parliament in the 2022 August polls.

Kanduyi MP elect John Makali too echoed Majimbo’s sentiments as he praised the Supreme Court for affirming that Ruto won election free and fair as he urged Bungoma residents to rally behind his victory and revealed that the President elect is indeed grateful for giving him more votes that led to his victory.
He said that after their Thursday 8th September swearing in, as Bungoma leaders they will embark on ground work and implement their agenda they promised electorates during campaigns.
Kanduyi MP elect said they are working day and night to see that Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula wins the National Assembly Speaker post as he also urged Kenya Kwanza MPs and other MPs from Western Kenya to support Wetangula’s bid so that he wins in the first attempt.
Martin Pepela Wanyonyi, Webuye East MP elect praised the Supreme Court under its President Martha Koome for showing that Kenyan Judiciary can’t be swayed since it is independent and couldn’t be intimidated to give a biased ruling.
He made a pledge that as 13th Parliament legislators, they will ensure that independent institutions carry out their duties without being threatened, intimidated or harassed but the rule of law should be followed accordingly.
He also urged all Western MPs to unanimously vote for Bungoma Senator who is also Ford Kenya party leader Moses Wetangula as the National Assembly speaker despite their party affiliations as he added that the post is not meant for Kenya Kwanza only but it is for the good of Luhya nation.
