County Executive Committee Member on Gender, Culture, Youth and Sports in Bungoma County, Engineer Agnes Wachie, has expressed gratitude to President William Ruto for organizing the Madaraka Day celebrations in the County and implementing various development projects.
“I want to thank the President for the plans they had to ensure that national days functions are devolved since devolving such functions make Counties to open, like now Bungoma is known courtesy of Madaraka Day celebrations.” Stated Engineer Wachie
Engineer Wachie has assured Bungoma residents that the construction of Masinde Muliro Stadium will continue as promised by the President. She praised Governor Lusaka for his collaboration with the national government to facilitate development.
“What next? If you listened to the Head of State he said that construction of this stadium will proceed and he will hand it over to the County government of Bungoma himself. The Cabinet Secretary for Youth Affairs, Sports and Arts Ababu Namwamba has also said that within six months the stadium will be complete. That means around December we shall have a stadium completed in good shape and I must note that it will be on international standards.” She noted
“I would like to thank our Governor for taking over this stadium which had stalled from 2019 and ensured that it is complete through his collaboration with the national government.” She added
Furthermore, she announced a committee to oversee activities at the stadium, revealing other activities that will be carried out in the Stadium.
