Senator David Wafula Wakoli has made a passionate appeal to President William Ruto for important developments in Bungoma County, focusing on healthcare, infrastructure, and local employment.
Speaking at the launch of a major market construction project in Bungoma Town- Soko Kubwa, the senator called for the elevation of the Bungoma Referral Hospital to a Level 6 facility to improve maternal and child healthcare services in the region.
In addition to healthcare upgrades, Senator Wakoli urged the government to prioritize local residents for employment in the modern market construction project. He emphasized that such an approach would provide vital job opportunities for Bungoma’s residents, contributing to the county’s economic growth.
Furthermore, Senator Wakoli requested the construction of pedestrian footbridges along the Musikoma-Kanduyi dual carriage way, aiming to reduce accidents involving pedestrians and vehicles. These footbridges, he said, would significantly improve pedestrian safety.
The senator also expressed his appreciation for President Ruto’s ongoing development initiatives and called for the construction of dormitories at Kenya Medical Training College, Bungoma branch (KMTC) to better support the training of future healthcare professionals.
