Bungoma County Senator David Wafula Wakoli has affirmed that the Ford Kenya party will remain intact, with the Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetangula continuing as its leader . Wakoli made these remarks during the funeral ceremony of Geoffrey Makhakha, the brother of Kanduyi MP John Makali, which was held at Mukhaweli in Bungoma County.
Senator Wakoli emphasized that the Ford Kenya party is strong and will not be folded, despite any external pressures. His sentiments were echoed by Bungoma County Governor Kenneth Lusaka, who also serves as the Deputy Party Leader of Ford Kenya. Lusaka further emphasized that the party is united and resilient, dismissing any doubts about its stability.
These sentiments come just a day after the High Court issued a ruling declaring that Moses Wetangula cannot lead Ford Kenya while serving as the National Assembly Speaker, citing the need for impartiality in public office.
Wetangula, who is also the leader of Ford Kenya, has faced significant legal challenges, but both the party leadership and its supporters remain resolute in their belief that Wetangula’s position as Speaker and the leadership of Ford Kenya will not be shaken.
