Bungoma County to benefit from a 6 year 9.4 billion IFAD-International Fund for Agricultural Development project in the ongoing Kenya Livestock Commercialization project -KeLCoP
Bungoma County has been listed as one of the beneficiaries in the 9.4 billion IFAD-International Fund for Agricultural Development second phase of Kenya Livestock Commercialization project aimed at boosting rural small holder farmers income and enhancing food security.
While gracing the 2nd inception meeting for the Western Region Economic block Counties at Dairy Training Center Naivasha in Nakuru County, Bungoma Deputy Governor Janepher Mbatiany has emphasized the need to have partnership programs for effective service delivery stating that agricultural production is the only thing in eradicating poverty and empowering poor families across the County.

The project will see a major boost in empowering the vulnerable, ultra poor households, women headed households, marginalized communities and the youth in transforming rural livelihoods and empowering them to be self sustainable.
Bungoma County is among the 10 Counties sampled by the KeLCoP-IFAD for the 6 year project targeting 110,000 households .
