Bungoma Deputy Governor Pst. Janepher Mbatiany has flagged off the annual campaign of 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence in a brief ceremony at County headquarters.
The campaign themed “Unite” aims at eliminating Violence against Women and is expected to run until 10 December which is the global Human Rights Day.
In her remarks, Deputy Governor called on the public to stand in solidarity with women’s rights activists and support feminist movement in the county to resist the rollback on women’s rights.
She reaffirmed Governor Lusaka’s commitment to ensuring the rights of women are prioritized.
