Farmers whose crops were affected during the heavy rains that impounded several parts of Bungoma County have a reason to smile after Apollo Agriculture, a company that initially gave out seedlings and fertilizer, offered the same for replanting.
Lewis Koome, a sales officer from the company says the initiative is aimed at helping the farmers reclaim their produce saying many were affected during the season and were pessimistic of a bumper harvest.
He further disclosed that they have over 75 thousand farmers who have been offered farmers loans to a tune of more than two hundred and forty three million shillings.
He added that they are in consultation with farmers to have them offer more support in terms of what they are offering, saying as of now they have focused on maize crop and in future they may add more crops.

Bungoma County agriculture Chief officer who was the chief guest during the representations applauded the efforts of Apollo agriculture in giving loans to farmers saying it has helped boost the yields so as to achieve food security in the County.
She added that as a County they have been giving out free fertilizer and seedlings to the vulnerable and with such complementation from companies such as Apollo agriculture, Bungoma County is in a good position to produce more to feed other parts of the country.
Some of the beneficiaries applauding the efforts of the company to help them after being affected saying they can now replant and have a bumper harvest as they have initially projected.
