Residents of Nyangali village in West Bukusu ward, Bumula constituency of Bungoma County are a dissatisfied lot due to the poor state of the road connecting residents of Miluki- Nyangali- Mayanja.
They claim the road was last rehabilitated three years ago during the reign of former Governor, who is now the senate speaker Ken Lusaka saying the current County leadership has neglected them thus paralyzing their transport activities. Area MP Moses Mwambu Mabonga who visited the area to see the road expressed his disappointment with the County leadership saying so far no leader under the County leadership has been on the site. He said the road is supposed to be constructed by the County yet the area MCA and the Governor have turned a deaf ear on the residents yet they fully participated in electing them saying they have to be responsible.
Mabonga said it is disheartening that the County has rehabilitated roads elsewhere more than three times yet this single road has never been considered thus cautioning the residents against making uninformed decisions at the ballot in the forthcoming general election.
He even vowed to join the residents for a demonstration to the County government offices to launch their complaint saying as tax payers the residents have a right to better services.
The MP also called upon President Uhuru Kenyatta to consider allowing religious congregations that include churches and mosques saying the fight against Coronavirus will be won through indulgence with God.
He also called upon transparency during the process of giving out relief food to residents who have been adversely affected during this period.
