Bungoma County Governor Kenneth Lusaka has called for the integration of culture and sports as a strategic approach to enhance local eco-tourism, emphasizing the potential for cultural festivals to drive both unity and economic growth.
Speaking at the Kapkugo Festival celebrations at Mt. Elgon, Governor Lusaka highlighted the role of such events in preserving traditions while contributing to local tourism. “Events like this are more than just celebrations. The festival, a three-day event celebrating the vibrant traditions of the region, was graced by Sports Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen, who assured attendees that the Sports Ministry would expedite the completion of the Masinde Muliro Kanduyi Stadium.
