Chief Officer in the office of the Governor of Bungoma County Denson Barasa has applauded the schools that performed well in 2020 KCSE especially schools that were among top 100 nationally as he appreciated teachers for the great efforts that made Bungoma schools be on educational map in the country.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank our schools that have performed well, so far the schools I have received their results are like Lugulu Girls , Friends School Kamusinga, my former school Kibabii High school, these three were among the top 100 schools in Kenya, I know we have schools that improved like Bungoma High school and others that I haven’t received their results therefore I take this chance on my behalf and our office to thank all teachers across Bungoma county I know you worked tirelessly for us to get such impressing results,” stated Barasa

Speaking to West Media in his office, Barasa said Bungoma governor’s scholarship programme has contributed a lot to the good performance as he revealed that a student from Kimilili who joined Nakuru High school and was being sponsored by the governor’s scholarship got A something he termed beneficial.

“Importantly, I would like to appreciate Governor Wangamati for starting scholarship programme, because in Kimilili we have a boy called Simiyu who was at Nakuru High got A courtesy of scholarship programme that was started in 2017 as Governor took office. We are hopeful that 10 years ahead we shall have many students get As those we are taking to extra county and national schools because when we empower this young generation we are surely protecting our future as a county and as a country,” he added

He however wanted parents who their children never performed well to take them to Technical Institutes and tertiary colleges so that they can train hands-on courses that will enable them have a better life in future.

“Parents who your  children never got good results perhaps C and think that your child failed , kindly we have technical institutes, take them  there like we have Sang’alo , Matili and others and Vocational Training Centers let them   train courses like plumbing, hair dressing nowadays there are good paying even more than office work , don’t rebuke such children its God who knows what He has in store for them, accept them with the grades they got ask them what they can do and where they are not sure guide them or look for professionals  to talk to them and they will tell you what they want to do, I assure you  they will be different from people who just sit at home,” advised former Principal
