Bungoma County leaders expressed mixed feelings regarding the push to remove Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua from office. Speaking at a fundraising event for women’s groups in Naitiri, Tongaren constituency, Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa labeled Gachagua as tribalist, asserting that his actions have hindered several projects within Bungoma.
Meanwhile, Mwambu Mabonga, Chairman of the Non-Governmental Organizations Coordination Board, highlighted the internal strife within the Kenya Kwanza government. He praised President William Ruto’s decision to include opposition members in the Cabinet, noting that this move has helped stabilize the country amidst ongoing protests.
Additionally, Kapkateny ward representative Joan Kirong urged President Ruto and his Deputy to seek reconciliation, warning that the ongoing tensions between their allies could negatively impact the operations of the Kenya Kwanza government.
