Senior Deputy County Commissioner Bungoma North Sub-County Philip Koima has assured residents that security committee has established measures to enhance their security, and property during and after General Elections.
Speaking during the election preparedness stakeholders meeting at Mukuyuni in Tongaren Constituency, Koima said that multi agency security team is well prepared to enhance security for the locals together with their property citing that raft measures have been put in place to curb any case of insecurity ahead of the upcoming August General elections.
He further noted that there is improved preparations and coordination among elections management actors, security and peace to prevent violence and conflicts among the locals and various political leaders that would threaten the unity and peace of this nation ahead of the August General Elections.
With regard to the increase in murder cases among the security personnel in schools in Bungoma North Sub County, Koima was saddened by the recent incident where Friends School Nabing’eng’e Secondary security guard was murdered and promised to put measures to enhance security in schools, asking institutions’ head to increase the number of security personnel so as to reduce theft cases and murder among the school guards in Bungoma North.
