Bungoma politicians urged to work with govt.
Bungoma County politicians have been called upon to work in harmony with officers of the Bungoma County government mandated to carry out duties stipulated in the constitution for the benefit of the residents.
Speaking in Pewawa village after handing over a motorbike to a widow Sarah Kimungui on behalf of Bungoma Governor Ken Lusaka, Public administration Chief officer David Kibiti said officers deployed by the County government at different level have to work under the rules and regulations governing their work which are to be strictly followed.
He added that there has been a reshuffle for the ward administrators in Kibingei ward and Bukembe west ward saying for civil servants transfers are normal and a politicians should not credit themselves that they chased away a ward administrator because he was executing his job as per the law.
“Ward administrators have to work in accordance with the law and when one is transferred another one replaces him immediately hence no vacuum and the law governing the issuance of bursary as well as other funds must be strictly followed by all the people involved in implementation,” he said

Mr. Kibiti further disclosed that the County government will be rolling out civic education programs across all the 45 wards of the County to enlighten the residents on the roles of the various officers under the County government and their various offices.
He added that since the inception of the devolution government many people at the grass root level have not been able to understand the roles of different people in government including Chief Officers, Sub county administrators, ward administrators and even village administrators who will be employed soon.
“The village administrators will also have a council comprising of five people who will be meeting to help identify and forward issues affecting the people at the grass root level to help the County government tackle the issue in an amicable way” he added
The motorbike was given after governor Ken Lusaka promised during the burial of Isaac Kuyi who was one of his chief campaigners saying it will help his family of Sarah Kimungui and her children to stabilize in life since the bread winner is no longer with them.
On her part the widow thanked the Govenor for the generous gesture saying she had been struggling to educate her children after the death of her husband and called upon the people of Bungoma County to vote in again governor Lusaka for his good deeds to the less fortunate in the society.
However area residents led by Toili Musanga called upon the governor to implement water project he launched some time back saying residents are anxiously waiting to benefit from the project as they are now travelling to a far to fetch water.
