Bungoma County residents especially youths have been urged to be more cautious in this campaign period to avoid ill minded politicians.
Speaking at Chwele market, Bungoma County peace ambassador Mr. Polycap Musila said youths might find themselves at the wrong side of the law if not careful, urging them to be alert.
“We know this campaign period some politicians are set to gain mileage by using our youths to cause chaos and disrupt other people’s meetings, personally I discourage such kind of politics in this era,” Musila said.
Musila appealed to the people of Bungoma to choose their leaders well basing on their track record without any intimidation or party politics.
He called upon the National and County Government to put more effort on strengthening the peace initiative by empowering the peace ambassadors across the Country.
“In Kenya we have so many peace ambassadors who voluntarily contribute a lot in peace building, and I’m sure we go far if only the two governments can engage them in material support and capacity building,” he added.
He added that his contribution towards the same has given him an opportunity to be recognized and awarded by the President of the Republic of Kenya His Excellency Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta some years back.
He further urged the people of Western region and the entire country to continue preaching peace before, during and after the 9th August General Elections
