Several businesses operators in Bungoma town are counting losses after their businesses premises were demolished.
The business included Dawameds Hospital, Railways Hotel, boutiques and other businesses have been forced to vacate after they were given one day notice to vacate.
Nazz Sharriff says the land was leased to his family in 1991 saying the contract was to be on for 99 years. He added that they were caught unaware with the current demolitions.
He says it is unfortunate that they have to demolish the property of people who have invested heavily in their businesses and have to seek for alternative places to set up their businesses.
Grace Wanjiku a boutique owner says they reported to work as usual only to be told to vacate in the afternoon as demolitions were to kick off.
