As a way of overseeing development in the society, West Media fans under Bungoma All in One Umbrella Bungoma North region have set up projects that will see them grow.
Speaking during Merry go round for Victory Women Salaams Club in Nyasi Mwananchi, the chairman of Bungoma North Sub County fans Patrick Sikuku revealed their projects that they are undertaking.
“As a Sub County we thought of starting this course as a way of reaching all our members and help where we can, we have been able to start a micro-finance unit where we loan money to our members and it’s paid back with a small interest. This helps our members pay for their children school fees and do other projects of their choice,” said Sikuku.
“There are groups that have already bought chairs; some have 50 while others have 100 chairs therefore as a family we have good thoughts for our members since our aim is to do away with alarming poverty that is a hindrance to majority of our people,” he reiterated.
“The other thing that we are looking forward to is to ensure that every member is registered with NHIF, we have this in our plans, almost 200 members are ready and the exercise will be kicking off in March,” stated Sikuku, “We began by buying a motorbike that is generating income for our group. We are aspiring to reach greater heights as a family and it is my prayer that members will continue working together and thus our dreams will be achieved,” he affirmed. However, Victory Women Salaams Club chairman Nicholas Mbanacho expressed his joy to members who made it to the function.
“I take this chance to thank all those who made it up here, let us maintain the spirit and do to others as you have done for us. We are going to buy seats with this money we have been given by other salaams clubs,” said Mbanacho. They appreciated West Media Company for standing with them and being close to them.
“We thank West Media for accepting to be part of us, more so we would like to thank the Directors for allowing presenters to come over and join us during our meetings. We believe that as we will continue being together we shall go far,” added Mbanacho. West Media was represented by Victoriah Nang’oni, who thanked the fans for supporting West Media and for maintaining unity among themselves since it is only through unity that all their dreams and aspirations can be achieved.
