A somber mood engulfed the burial of the late Dr. John Nyongesa Walumbe as he was laid at his home in Kipsaina area of Cherangany Sub County in Trans Nzoia County. Several leaders, professionals, friends, and the family converged to give him a decent send-off. Former Kwanza MP Noah Wekesa described the late Nyongesa as a person he knew very well, given that they were classmates from Secondary school to university. He described him as a funny character. He was also notably smart in school, something Noah Wekesa was keen to point out
His sentiments were echoed by Professor Richard Muchangi, who described the late as a man of few words and performed his work with dedication, and who nurtured some young doctors in the profession. His family led by his elder daughter Akinyi Nyongesa were full of praise for him and described him as a lovely and caring man.
She described their father as a loving dad who made sure the family got the best in life, ranging from basic needs to his children’s education.The family members said they were saddened by the demise of their father saying he had left a big gap that will be difficult to fill.
