The County government of Busia has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the USAID as a friendly tie to partner up and keep progressing with development projects in the county.
Speaking at the signing event, Bert Ubamadu, the USAID Deputy Mission Director has stated that the MOU is a result of the many projects that have been facilitated by the USAID in the county.
USAID is seeking the MOU in order to partner with the county and work together to give solutions to various challenges affecting the county and aid in development.
“Through the signing of this MOU today, we are very proud to start our official engagement with your county governor, signing our joint partnership to work together to facilitate Kenya led development in Busia. We will measure these programs with you, to address problems, and implement solutions, at the county level.” Bert Ubamadu stated.
The partnership will provide the collaboration and accountability framework that looks forward to transform how USAID does business focused on facilitating transformational partnership between the county, civil society, and private sector to promote economic growth, agricultural development, good governance, immune resilience and a better health and education outcome.
As an example of continual collaboration, Maisha Afya a new locally led managed HIV project has been introduced which is led by Doctor Everlyne Atieno as the Chief Authority.
