A male candidate at Kosirai Mixed Day High school in Chesumei constituency, Nandi County missed his Maths paper 2 test after arriving in school an hour late when the exam had already began.
Chesumei sub-county Director of Education Mr. David Mwandihi while confirming the incident, said the candidate came in moments late and was not allowed to do the exam due to the set rules and regulations.
He said that he had earlier received a report from the school that the candidate was missing and they had to seek help from the area chief. After careful searching, they found the candidate sleeping comfortably at their home without his parents’ consent.
Mwandihi revealed that when the candidate was asked why he didn’t turn up for the exam, he said he had a muscle problem. He, however, was given the chance to do the Biology paper. The Education Director has cautioned parents whose kids attend day schools to ensure their kids reach school on time and know their whereabouts. He suspected that the candidate must have sneaked out to a party and came in late, although it’s said the student has a record of evading exams. He added that the case is in the hands of the area chief, whose supposed to investigate and notify them what really went wrong.
Moreover, two candidates from Kapchepkok Mixed Day Secondary School in Chesumei, a boy and a girl, didn’t do their exams, after one got a job and the other got married.
