Residents of Kapsabet town and its environs are living in fear over rampant stray dogs which pose a threat to their lives.
This is after an expectant woman was attacked by these stray dogs while in her compound carrying out her daily chores a situation which has raised a lot of fear to residents.
The middle aged expectant lady suffered hand, back and thigh injuries following the stray dogs attack and was rescued by her neighbours who rushed her to Kapsabet County Referral Hospital where she was treated and discharged.
There has been a pack of stray dogs roaming within Kapsabet town and its environs posing a threat to the public and residents security thus called upon the County veterinary department to act swiftly in ensuring all these roaming dogs are captured.
County veterinary officer Dr. Samson Bitok said they have received complaint of stray dogs and as a department have put in measures to curb the menace and ensure safety of the public to avoid anti – rabies diseases.
“We have put in measures to see that all stray dogs in town and within its environments are nabbed and tamed.” Bitok affirmed.
The residents have vowed to kill all the dogs if action is not taken swiftly by the department claiming they cannot allow such cases to happen again.
