Nandi Jubilee Senatorial aspirant Samson Cherargei has been cleared by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to vie for the senatorial post after submitting his documents for verification.
Cherargei lauded the work done by IEBC, and urge them to maintain the same spirit. The Senatorial aspirant was cleared by the County IEBC manager Mrs Catherine Indimuli.
Submission of nomination papers for Gubernatorial, Senatorial and Woman representatives happened at Namgoi mixed day secondary school while the MCAs submission happened at constituency level.
Aspirants who turned up for the presentation of their documentation were accompanied by their families, relatives and their supporters.
The incumbent Senator Kipyego Stephen Sang, who is the Jubilee nominee for the gubernatorial seat together with his opponents Koech Tirop Nicholas, an independent candidate, Kipketer Daniel from KANU and Serem Kibet Anderson, an independent candidate will present their documents on 30th.
Kapsabet Ward incumbent MCA Fredrick Kipkemboi together with others have been cleared.
Speaking to the press, Kipkemboi revealed his satisfaction with how IEBC is conducting the exercise. He further urged all the cleared aspirants to conduct peaceful campaigns ahead of the August polls.
