Christians have been urged to be each other’s keeper and pray for the nation with its people especially this time when people are perishing in mysterious deaths and accidents.
Speaking during the burial of Peter Kuya Wasike in Tulukuyi Bumula sub county Bungoma who perished in a road accident in Sudan after being knocked down by a speeding vehicle father Joseph Tome of Kimwanga sub parish said we are living the last times and urged Christians to exercise peace, love and unity.
Father Tome noted that people are dying mysteriously likening the accidents deaths to blackout that goes off without notice saying that people have forgotten God and many things are happening that need prayer interventions.
“People have turned against each other and no longer care about each others’ welfare, people have gone against the purpose of God.” He stated.
As Christians, he said they had a role of going before God to repent on behalf of others while praying for days to come.
On another note, he emphasized the importance of stretching out to the poor citing that the less fortunate ones in society need love and affection from those who have been blessed.
He also urged youths who have no employment to utilize their talents and come up with initiatives that can enable them earn a living instead of depending on well wishers.
As the country nears the general elections, Father Tome urged Kenyans to be good examples to other countries by exercising calmness and maturity in their politics.
He encouraged politicians to be in the fore front preaching peace rather than dividing people along tribal lines.
He also urged the people not to accept being divided along tribal and political lines by the selfish politicians but stay with each other in love as brothers because God requires them to love each other.
He urged the people to stay in peace and avoid politicians who seem to make the country go through the 2017 post election violence which saw many people lose their lives and properties.
The late who was working in Sudan as a masonry met his death when a vehicle knocked him down and died two days later, he has been survived by a widow with six children.
