An African Divine church (ADC) leader was killed by another church leader from the Pentecostal Assemblies of God (PAG) after the former was allegedly caught in bed with the latter’s wife at Kona Mbaya village, Lumakanda location, Lugari sub county.

According to the deceased’s wife Ann Alusa her husband Fred Khamasi (32) who is the national youth leader in the ADC church, left the house at about 9pm without telling her where he was going to before he returned at about 11:45pm with serious injuries.

“He went to watch television in his brother’s house and returned few minutes to 9pm, took his jacket, switched on the radio and left without saying where he was going to before he returned at 11:45pm with all his clothes soaked with blood,” said Alusa.

She said he had several deep cuts on his head, hands, legs and ribs and when she asked what had happened to him he only told her that he had been attacked by unknown people at Maweni village but he never gave more information.

She tried to administer first aid but his condition worsened and he fainted, prompting her to seek assistance from their pastor and other church leaders who responded and he was rushed to Lumakanda county hospital where he died while undergoing treatment.

However it was later established that the youth leader was attacked by Mr. Hedmond Inzai (40) who is the  Mtarakwa PAG church treasurer after he found him in bed with his wife Nifrida Masitsa (38).

Confirming the incident Mwamba sub location assistant chief Edwin Nashirobe said Mr. Inzai who is a polygamist went to his first wife’s house at about 10pm after suspecting she was having an extramarital affair.

He said when he reached home the wife refused to open the door but after insisting she opened, jumped outside and ran away.

When he entered the house he found Khamasi hiding in the house before he attacked him with an axe, seriously injuring him.

He then tied him with ropes and dragged him out but on event of communicating to the local administration, Khamasi managed to untie himself and escaped, disappearing into the dark.

After receiving information about Khamasi’s death Inzai went into hiding. Khamasi’s body was taken to Chebaiywa mortuary in the neighbouring Uasin Gishu County and the Lugari DCI office has launched an investigation into the incident.
