Byrum Makokha the Archbishop of Church of God in East Africa has passed on while undergoing treatment at Agha Khan Hospital in Kisumu.
According to his wife, Grace Makokha, the leader of the Church passed on early on Tuesday.
The Archbishop has been at the helm of the leadership of the Church that was established in Kenya in 1905 by Robert Wilson. Makokha who was born in 1932, stirred the Church to greater heights by opening more branches across East Africa.
The Chair of Council of Governors and Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya and his Vihiga Counterpart Wilber Ottichilo lauded the late Makokha’s leadership skills saying they must be emulated by other religious leaders across the country.
Oparanya noted that the Archbishop inspired many spiritually and his good deeds must be remembered forever.
