Civil servants who want to vie in the August 9 General Election have until tomorrow (Wednesday 9) to resign from their jobs.
This comes after the Court of Appeal on Tuesday 8th Feb overturned the Employment and Labour Relations Court ruling that it was discriminatory to require public servants to resign.
In a ruling delivered by Lady Justice Monica Mbaru of the Employment and Labour Relations Court on 6th Feb, IEBC was stopped from disqualifying public servants eyeing political seats if they would not have resigned by then.
Civil servants who have resigned so far are; Devolution CS Charles Keter who is going to vie for Kericho Gubernatorial seat, , Petroleum CS John Munyes vying for Turkana County Governor, Water PS Joseph Irungu to vie for Murang’a County Governor seat.
