Coffee farmers across Nandi are reaping the fruits of the subsidized coffee seedlings distribution initiative under the County government of Nandi.
Speaking during the second batch distribution of certified coffee seedlings to farmers in Toretmoi Kaborogin in Koyo/Ndurio ward, Nandi Governor Stephen Sang said his government is economically empowering people through the initiation of agribusiness activities, transforming lives in the region in the process.
Governor Sang asked Nandi residents to utilise such opportunities by venturing into the agribusiness citing that some of the coffee farmers who benefited from the initiative are already reaping the fruits. The Governor gave out a total of eighty thousands coffee seedlings to coffee farmers in Kaborogin Aldai sub-county. The first batch was distributed in May this year where coffee farmers from across the region benefited.
The Governor, along with leaders from the agriculture docket, also commissioned a coffee pulping machine for Kapsaos-Toretmoi coffee growers cooperative society.
