Shinyalu MP Justus Kizito Mugali said
Shinyalu MP Justus Kizito Mugali said there is a dire need to rebuild the school terming the buildings at the school a time bomb. He asked the school leadership together with other stakeholders to seek an alternative place to host the students and quickly renovate the buildings that are old and pose a threat to the students. “The buildings are extremely old and weak, they were put up in 1960. Something has to be done and if the school is not in a position l would suggest they close it down for the students’ lives are more precious,” reiterated Kizito. “Imagine if this would have happened while students were in the lab, we would be talking about a calamity. Let us take action early instead of waiting for the worst.” The students are sitting for their end of term exams.
The MP called upon the Ministry of Education and other stakeholders to frequently check-up on schools’ infrastructure and be in the limelight to avoid such incidents. He promised to step in as CDF to help the school. He further promised to seek assistance from the Ministry of Education and other partners to see if he can secure an emergency fund for the same.
