There is confusion of ballot papers in Pokot South constituency where some names and photos of candidates on ballot papers are missing.
The names of candidates in Pokot South and Kacheliba constituencies have been affected.
Pokot South MP David has raised concern over the matter calling on the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to investigate the matter and make sure they participate in the Tuesday 9th August General elections.
He said that the ballot papers at constituency tallying center in Chepareria are in Kacheliba constituency.
“There is confusion for Member of Parliament seat. On top the ballot paper there is labeling of Pokot but inside there are only two photos and two names. We have three candidates for the MP seat,” he said.
He added that there are no ballot papers for Pokot South Constituency.
He said that the names on the ballot papers are for Kamba names.
“David Mwalika Mboin constituency of Wiper Democratic movement and Charles Mutisya Nyamai of UDA”, he said.
He said that ballot papers for Kacheliba constituency have names and photos of Pokot South Constituency.
“It is now 4 o’clock and we want answers so that we can participate in elections.
He said that the issue is causing anxiety and worries among voters pitting them in confusion if there will be election in Pokot South Constituency as the clock ticks towards the election date.
However, Pokot South Constituency Returning Officer Antony Kimani noted that the Commission is aware.
Kacheliba Constituency Returning Officer Wilson Kimutai Kipchumba admitted that there was confusion and the matter is being handled by the Commission.
“I have sent the report to the head quarters and am waiting for the response,” he said.
