Governor Kenneth Lusaka has challenged the Ethics and Anti – Corruption commission to consider an inclusive approach in the fight against corruption in counties.
Speaking during the capacity building workshop for the corruption prevention committee of Bungoma, Kakamega and Elgeyo Marakwet counties at Ciala resort in Kisumu, Lusaka said it was important for the commission to develop a working relationship with counties in addressing the contemporary governance challenges, including corruption.
” I ask that you consider working closely with counties to detect corruption early and prevent it, Instead of waiting for the public money to be stolen then you initiate arrests” Lusaka said
Lusaka also used the opportunity to commend the EACC for achieving notable milestones in the fight against corruption.
Governors present during the workshop included Anyang Nyong’o (Kisumu), Fernandez Baraza (Kakamega), Wisely Rotich (Elgeyo Marakwet) and a number of Deputy Governors.
