A misunderstanding has ensued over the burial site of the late Sarah Nanyama, the 1st wife of the late Dini ya Msambwa founder Elijah Masinde Wanameme who is to be laid to rest on Saturday 9th of July 2016.
According to the Babichachi’s clan chairman Wanjala Makokha, the clan together with late Elijah Masinde had strictly set out rules on where he and his wives should be buried hence no one should dare go against the rules.

He stated there are two designated places in the homestead saying one part was set aside for the Dini ya Msambwa shrines where the faithful from different parts of the country normally come to worship and the other part is where the late Elijah was buried.
“After the death of Elijah it was agreed by the clan that the widows will each be buried at the land of their sons respectively and not next to where Elijah was buried since he was a great man and his grave yard ought to be preserved for him alone,” he said
He disclosed that ‘Dini ya Msambwa’ have faithfuls from all over the country including West Pokot and Uganda saying they visit the homestead and the grave site on several occasions and must have access to the grave of their founder.
However he said since the death of Sarah Nanyama, they have received calls from some of the family members who have been proposing for her to be buried next to Elijah’s grave since she was the first wife of the late legend.

The chairman however called for sanity among the family members saying the late Sarah Nanyama’s burial ought to be treated with utmost respect and that as the wife of the Bukusu overseer, she was a participant in many activities that were of great help to the nation.
He also added that they are expecting to have many guests of high caliber at her burial including high ranking officers from the national as well as the County government therefore ought to grant her a befitting send off with no controversies whatsoever.
He said the late Sarah has two surviving sons Wafula and Mwasame who were given land for inheritance and are supposed to provide a site for the burial of their mother as the case has been for other wives of the late Elijah who passed on after his death.
