Cord urged to address IEBC issue by legal process
CORD coalition leaders have been cautioned against disparaging independent institutions in the country for individual political gains.
Speaking at Seum area in Cherang’any constituency during prayers forum for a former radio presenter Joshua Arap Sang who was among the six Kenyans whose case they were facing at the ICC was terminated, Nandi senator Stephen Arap Sang accused cord coalition leaders for attacking the institutions instead of addressing the issues they are raising through legal process.

The Nandi senator said whatever Cord leaders are doing reflects what happened in this country prior to 2007-2008, whereby political leaders were discrediting institutions put together to oversee elections.
He also pointed fingers at the National Council of Churches of Kenya (NCCK) for joining the CORD coalition in pushing for the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission IEBC to be put back together.
“It is not right for CORD coalition and other National Council of Churches of Kenya to keep discrediting public institutions on issues that can be solved through petition in parliament,” said Nandi senator Stephen Sang
Trans Nzoia woman representative Janet Nangabo took issue with CORD leader Raila Odinga for failing to petition the national assembly and the senate through the coalition’s leaders instead of simply playing theatrics.
“We expect Mr. Odinga to handle the issues he has been raising over IEBC and the Eurobond through parliament but he has chosen a different path as he seeks political mileage and we as Kenyans we are watching,” said Mrs. Nangabo

Mrs. Nangabo also said that the leadership of this country has made a commitment that will never take this country back what was witnessed in 2007-2008 elections.
She added that as political leaders they have made it clear that they shall never ascend to power through the innocent blood of Kenyans.
The Trans Nzoia woman representative said the process that started in Nakuru coming down to Trans Nzoia will extend to the entire country to ensure that there is reconciliation, national healing and unity among Kenyans.
On the other hand, Joshua Arap Sang urged Kenyans to live in peace saying he does want to see anyone going through what he experienced.
He also called on the government to ensure that all the victims of the post-election are compensated so as to heal this country.
