West Pokot governor has hit at the opposition of being power hungry and wanting to destabilize Kenyans.
The Governor said the CORD coalition should embrace dialogue on issues affecting the county instead of inciting Kenyans and causing mayhem in the country.
Speaking during Madaraka Day celebrations at Makutano primary school, the governor thanked the president for tolerance and engaging wisely with the opposition.
“We thank the President for accepting to meet opposition leaders so that they can resolve issues affecting the country,” said Kachapin.

He said CORD should not use issues affecting Kenyans to gain political mileage and increase political temperature prematurely.
Kachapin called on political leaders to engage wisely and embrace dialogue instead of engaging through public forums that could incite Kenyans.
The Governor has appealed to the opposition in the country to give the president chance to deliver services to Kenyans.
He said Kenyans are tired of conflicts and will not accept seeing what happened in the country during the 2007/2008 post election violence.
“We should accept to sit down as leaders and solve our differences instead of going to streets risking lives of innocent Kenyans,” he said.
He called on leaders not to use youths to cause chaos in matters that can be handled by the court.
“Youths should be careful so that they don’t be used by politicians. We want youths to be engaged in meaningful development activities,” he said.
Kachapin stressed that the president was elected overwhelmingly by Kenyans and the opposition should accord him enough time to deliver his constitutional rights to Kenyans.
“The President should be respected and not abused each and every time,”Kachapin said.
The county boss asked leaders in the country to unite and focus on development of the nation so at to achieve vision 2030.
“We want all leaders to work together for the common good of the Country,” Kachapin said.
He said that Kenyans are faced with many problems and leaders should not play divisive politics urging that leaders should focus on developing the country.
However the governor thanked the national government for its commitment to support devolution and ensure Kenyans enjoy fruits of the devolved units.
