Kakamega senator Bonny Khalwale has exuded confidence that the Coalition for Reforms and democracy party (CORD) will win next general elections in a landslide.
He said the party has put in place strategies to ascend to power to be able to fight corruption that the jubilee government has failed to address.
Khalwale said the three principals Raila odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetangula are out to unite Kenyans and called on the Luhya community to vote for the party.
The senator was speaking on Friday in Mbale town when he was forced to cut his trip briefly and address the bodaboda operators who had stopped his car while on his way to Kakamega.
“The current little storm in ODM will be over and as members of cord we will soon address the problems in shortest time possible,” said Khalwale.
He called for Luhyia unity and said all Western leaders should strive to form a stand that will ensure they promote the interest of the community.
“We will only be part of the government when we join hands and support our favorable candidate to defeat Jubilee government,” said Khalwale.
He asked ODM party rebels Ababu Namwamba and Paul Otuoma who were secretary general and deputy leader respectively of the party to rescind their decisions and come back to the coalition.
“We expect these two officials to take their grievances to the party internal organs for amicable solutions,” added Khalwale.
He also proposed that electoral commission should be replaced every five years after conducting an election to curb irregularities.
The senator further said he will vie for Kakamega gubernatorial seat and criticized the Kakamega governor Wycliffe Oparanya of doing little to improve the livelihoods of the people in the county.
“I will vie for the governor’s seat and oust governor Oparanya in the next elections,” said Khalwale.
