The Ministry of Health has confirmed 136 new Coronavirus cases, taking Kenya’s total past the 35,000 mark to 35,020. This was after 3,707 samples were tested, with cumulative tests done up to now at 471,384. 124 of the new cases are Kenyans while 12 are foreigners.
In a statement on Saturday, the Health Ministry pointed out that the youngest is an 8-month-old infant, while the oldest is 75, with 85 being males and 51 females.
The distribution in the Counties is as follows; Nairobi 35,Mombasa 25, Kajiado 11, Turkana 9, Kisumu 9, Migori 8, Nyandarua 7, Kilifi 7, Embu 6, Uasin Gishu 4, Busia 3, Kisii 3, Baringo 2, Kakamega 2, Elgeiyo Marakwet, Tharaka Nithi, Kiambu, Kitui and Trans Nzoia had 1 case each.
The recoveries have risen to 21,158 after 99 patients have recovered from the disease, between Friday and Saturday. 64 were discharged from the home based care program while 35 were discharged from health facilities. Number of fatalities rose to 594 after 5 more patients succumbed to the virus.
