Kenya has recorded 151 new cases of Covid-19, raising the country’s total to 35,356. The cases were picked from a sample size of 2,552 samples with cumulative tests rising to 479,697. Speaking to the press during the daily Coronavirus status update, Health CAS Rashid Aman said all new cases are Kenyans except two foreigners.
In terms of gender, the number of females is higher for the first time with 77 new cases, while the males who’ve tested positive are 74. The youngest is a 3-year-old while the oldest is 74-years old. Nairobi County, which has been recording the highest daily Coronavirus numbers, has 23, and is second to Kitui County which has recorded 54 cases in the last 24 hours
Other counties with cases are Uasin Gishu 11, Kiambu 9, Garissa 9, Migori 9, Kisii 7, Trans Nzoia 6, Narok 4, Kericho 3, Mombasa 2, Busia 2, Taita Taveta 2, Machakos 2, Kilifi 2, Laikipia, Bomet, Nakuru Meru, Nyandarua and Kajiado have 1 case each.
173 patients have recovered from the disease, bringing the total number of recoveries in the country so far to 21,483.
A total of 107 of those discharged were from the home-based programme, while 66 were discharged from various health facilities.
The number of fatalities remains 599 as there were no Covid-19 related deaths in the last 24 hours.
