Kenya has recorded 195 new Covid-19 cases and the country’s total cases have now risen to 45,076. However, the samples tested have gone down drastically from 4,912 by Sunday evening to 1,852 on Monday.
The Ministry of Health in a statement said cumulative tests conducted so far are 623,828. Of the new cases, all except 19 patients are Kenyans. 137 are males, 58 are females and the youngest is a 5-month old child, while the oldest is 75-years-old.
Moreover, the fatalities have risen to 839 after 7 more deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours. The recoveries on the other hand have reached 32,084 after 227 patients were discharged. 146 were discharged from the home based care program while 81 have been released from hospitals.
1,084 people are currently admitted in various hospitals while some 2,480 patients are on home-based care programme, while the number of those admitted in ICU has risen to 39, up from 28.
The distribution of the cases by Counties is as follows; Nairobi 99, Busia 18, Uasin Gishu 17, Meru 14, Mombasa 10, Kiambu 10, Murang’a 8, Nakuru 7, Kajiado 3, Kisumu and Machakos have 2 cases each. Bungoma, Wajir, Kitui, Nyandarua and Nandi 1 case each.
