The Health Ministry has confirmed 241 new Covid-19 cases picked up in the last 24 hours, after testing 4,520 samples. The total cases have now risen to 33,630. 228 of these are Kenyans while 47 are foreigners. 152 are male while 89 are females, the youngest is a 1 year old child and the oldest is 86 years old.
Speaking during the Covid-19 briefing at Afya House, Health CAS Rashid Aman said the cumulative tests conducted so far are 442,713. However, there were no deaths recorded within the past day, as fatalities remain 567.
Of the new cases, Nairobi has registered the highest, with 113, followed by Mombasa with 14 and Taita Taveta and Kiambu with 10 cases. Kirinyaga and Narok have 9 cases each, Kajiado has 8 cases, Laikipia and Nakuru have 7 cases each. Uasin Gishu and Turkana have 6 cases each, Busia and Lamu have 5 cases each. Trans Nzoia, Kilifi, Kericho and Kakamega have 4 cases each. Kisumu and Nyeri have 3 cases each, Machakos, Makueni and Bomet have 2 cases each. Kitui, Bungoma, Nyandarua, Nandi and Embu have 1 case each.
