The government has confirmed 7 new Coronavirus cases in Kenya, bringing the total number of cases to 38. Speaking on Saturday, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe said the seven new cases are all from Nairobi, with the number of positive Covid-19 cases in Nairobi at 28.
1,141 close contacts are being monitored, and 163 of them have been discharged. He said mass testing will start from Sunday for those who traveled into Kenya and are in mandatory self quarantine. However, he said patients 1 and 3 have tested negative in their first tests and a second test is scheduled within the next 48 hours, adding that they are hopeful it will turn out negative too, cementing their full recovery from the Coronavirus.
Following a troubling day one curfew on Friday where cases of police brutality were witnessed, he urged the police officers to handle Kenyans better. He also urged employers to release their employees on time to enable them beat the curfew deadline.
