Coronavirus cases in Kenya have jumped to 17,975 after 440 new cases were reported on Monday. The cases were from 3,197 tested samples in 24 hours. All of the cases except three are Kenyans. According to the Health Ministry’s statement, 286 are males while 154 are females. The youngest is 1 year old and the oldest is 84 years.
90 people have recovered, with recoveries now at 7,833. 5 patients have succumbed to the virus, as fatalities rise to 285. Nairobi County leads in new cases with 326, Machakos has 32 cases and Kajiado County has 17. Kiambu also has 17 cases, Uasin Gishu has 13, Mombasa has 19, Murang’a has 5 cases, Baringo has 5 cases. Kilifi, Busia, Wajir and Nandi Counties have 2 cases each. Nyeri, Embu, Taita Taveta and Tharaka Nithi have 1 case each. Baringo becomes the latest County to record a case, with 45 Counties now affected.
