59 people have tested positive for the Coronavirus in the last 24 hours in Kenya bringing the total number of cases 2,021. The cases are out of 1,518 samples tested in the last 24 hours. The cumulative number of tests now stands at 80,054.
Health CS Mutahi Kagwe said of the new cases, 29 are in Nairobi-Ruaraka 8 from a quarantine facility, Westlands 6, Dagoretti North 4, Lang’ata 4, Kibra 3, Embakasi East, Kasarani, Kamukunji, Makadara 1 case each. Mombasa has 14 cases-Mvita 6, Kisauni, Nyali, Jomvu and Changamwe 2 cases each. Turkana 6 cases at Nadapal point of entry.
Busia County has 4 cases, 3 at the Malaba point of entry and 1 at Alupe quarantine facility. Taita Taveta County has 2 cases from Mwatete, Kajiado has 2 cases from Kajiado East. Kiambu County has 1 case from Thika and Kilifi 1 case from Rabai.
8 more patients have recovered, with total recoveries now at 482. However, 5 have succumbed to the virus, from Nairobi and Mombasa, the total fatalities now at 69.
