Speaking at Afya House on Saturday, Health CAS Rashid Aman said the fatalities don’t point to a weak healthcare system, “I can assure you that none of the deaths is as a result of mismanagement at any of our facilities. The deaths do not point to substandard care,” he said. He said the infections continue to rise daily and that 50% of those who succumb had pre-existing conditions, Diabetics are twice as likely to require intensive care. Obesity pre-disposes people to ailments.” He added that those with diabetes should stay home and go out only when necessary.
