The death toll from the Coronavirus has risen to 260 after 10 more patients succumbed in the last 24 hours. 637 new cases have been recorded out of a sample size of 4,275, as the total cases reach 14,805. Speaking to the press on Wednesday, Health CAS Rashid Aman raised concern with the rising cases of infection I Nairobi, which has now eclipsed Mombasa County in new cases.
Of the new cases, Nairobi has 342, Machakos 85, Kajiado 57, Kiambu 51, Nakuru 22, Mombasa 17. He also urged those living in Counties bordering the larger metropolitan region to strictly adhere to the Covid-19 infection prevention guidelines, noting that Kiambu County has also recorded a sharp increase in cases in the past two weeks.
361 of the newly recorded cases are males while 276 are females. The youngest is 1 year old while the oldest is 88 years old. The number of recoveries has risen to 6,757 after 499 patients recovered within the last day. 406 of these were under home based care while 93 have been discharged from various hospitals.
