Covid-19: Cases rise to 1,745 after 127 test positive

127 people have tested positive for the Coronavirus in the past 24 hours, with the total number of positive cases rising to 1,745. 3,831 samples were tested. Speaking on Friday at Afya House, Health CAS Dr Mercy Mwangangi said Nairobi leads in new cases with 76, followed by Mombasa County with 19, Busia with 16, Uasin Gishu with 8, Kiambu County 2, Kajiado 5 and Isiolo 1.

4 people in Mombasa have died, with the Health CAS noting that they had underlying health issues. However, 17 patients have been discharged, the number of recoveries now at 438.

In Nairobi, the cases are in Kibra with 49, Ruaraka 13, Makadara 4, Westlands 4, Lang’ata 2, Embakasi West, Kasarani, Dagoretti North, Starehe all with one case each. In Mombasa, Kisauni has 7 cases, Mvita 6 cases, Nyali 2 cases, Likoni 2 cases and Jomvu 1 case. In Busia County, 8 cases have been reported in Busia, 2 at Malaba entry point, and 8 at Alupe quarantine facility.

In Uasin Gishu County, the 8 cases are in Turbo, in Kajiado County, 3 of the cases are in Namanga, while 2 are in Kajiado North. The case in Isiolo County is in Isiolo town.
