The Ministry of Health on Monday confirmed 98 new Coronavirus cases, with total cases in Kenya rising to 37,079. Health CAS Rashid Aman said the cases are from a sample size of 1,644 with cumulative tests conducted now at 518,350.
Of these cases, the youngest is 9-years old while the oldest is 75 years old. 96 are Kenyans while 2 foreigners.
Nairobi County has recorded the most new cases, with 32 confirmed in 24 hours. Mombasa has 20, Meru 8, Uasin Gishu 8, Kiambu 5, Kisumu 4, Migori 4, Machakos 4, Elgeyo Marakwet 2, Kilifi 2, Taita Taveta and Murang’a 2 cases each while Garissa, Kwale, Embu, Samburu and Nakuru all have 1 case each.
62 patients have recovered from the disease, bringing the total number of recoveries in the country so far to 23,949. 44 were discharged from the home based care program and 18 from different hospitals. The fatalities rose to 650 after 2 patients succumbed to the virus within the last 24 hours.
