The Ministry of Health on Monday confirmed Kenya has recorded 276 new Covid-19 cases, taking the country’s total positive cases to 49,997. The cases were picked from 2,126 samples tested in the last 24 hours, with cumulative tests conducted now at 662,046. From the cases, 179 are males and 97 females while the youngest is a two -year-old child and the oldest is 90 years.
However, 18 more deaths have been recorded, taking the fatalities in the country to 920. On the other hand, 220 patients have been discharged after successful recoveries, 150 from the home based care program and 70 from the health facilities.
At least 20 patients are in the Intensive Care Unit, 52 on supplementary oxygen and 20 in the High Dependency Unit. A total of 1,191 people are currently admitted in various hospitals while some 1,406 patients are on home-based care programme.
In the Counties, the cases are distributed as follows; Mombasa 71, Machakos 58, Nairobi 50, Kilifi 21, Busia 21, Kwale 19, Kajiado 13, Garissa 6, Nakuru 5, Narok 4, Makueni 3, Kiambu 3, Taita Taveta and Tharaka Nithi had 1 case each.
