Kenya has recorded a new high in the number of Covid-19 cases in a da, after 960 people tested positive out of a sample size of 8,261. This highlights the ever increasing curve of infections, with the total cases now at 17,603 according to a statement from the Ministry of Health. 952 of the cases are Kenyans while 8 are foreigners. 604 are males while 356 are females.
2 more patients have died, with fatalities now at 280. However, 169 patients have recovered, 83 from hospitals and 86 under the home based care. The number of recoveries is now at 7,743. Nairobi County has once again recorded the most cases, with 519, followed by Kajiado at 102 and Kiambu County with 100.
Machakos County has 58, Mombasa County has 48, Busia County has 21, Carissa has 17, Uasin Gishu has 15, Kisumu has 14, Nakuru has 12, Narok has 10, Turkana has 9, Bomet has 8, Kericho has 7, Laikipia has 5, Murang’a has 5, Makueni has 5, Embu has 3, Nyeri, Taita Taveta, Kakamega and Bungoma have 2 cases each. Tana River, Trans Nzoia and Kisii Counties have 1 case each.
